Guppy aborted pregnancy?

Today i pulled out one of my guppies (female) as it had a large yellowish pinkish coloured blob underneith its anus, after closer inspection i have found that it appears that the bowls have exploded out of the fish however i did find one dead guppy fry among this material. What is this and what could have caused it?
