Motorcycle help please bajaj pulsar 220f?

i just bought a new bajaj pulsar 220f and the service guy told me to drive it slow like under 40kmph until the first service and apparently a couple of my buddies took it out for a spin and when they came back the engine was really hot and they said they got it up to 90kmph will this affect the bike in anyway please help??
