Would I be a bad mother if I did this?

I'm 19 and pregnant with my first child. The pregnancy wasn't planned, but I would never abort and decided to go through with the pregnancy, but I said from the start that my baby won't stop me achieving my dreams, although my child will always be my first priority in life. I've always wanted a career in the military, and before I fell pregnant I was building my fitness and preparing for joining but obviously I couldn't when I found myself pregnant. I know that if I don't try and join the military, I'll always regret it in life as I've always wanted to do it. I always said that even if I tried and they didn't accept me, then at least I would have tried and it would give me peace of mind. But would I be a bad mother if I went to the army and left my baby with the father or my parents? Me and the father aren't together but he is going to be in our child's life. So what are your opinions on a mother leaving her child home while going to places such as Afghanistan? If fathers can do it, then why can't mothers? Please don't judge me, I only want opinions.
