Endless Ocean: Blue World Help!!!?

I'm on the part in the Zahhab region where I need to guide a sperm whale into the twin crevasses to scare away the giant squid. I've tried for two hours to guide the thing but it follows me for like three seconds and disappears! I'm really getting ticked off, I've tried to feed it and I used the pulsar on it!! Please Help!!!
